Coming back home as the sun dips behind Mt. Tam. Evening Sunday ride this week. Wind gusts up to 80 in parts of the Bay Area. The Richmond Bridge is 5.5 miles long including approaches. In the wind it feels unending. Wind brings life to the quiet sheltered areas which might otherwise go unnoticed. They are such a relief from the noise and the (perceived?) threat of being knocked over. A couple on bicycles on Franciso Blvd. called out asking if they were headed the right direction to the bridge path. I replied yes, but its super windy. The woman shook her head like yeah, duh. I wonder if they made it across.
A four year trial is underway to measure use of The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Bike/Pedestrian Path against the impact on vehicular traffic across bridge. Collecting notes on my weekly trek over and back
