commuters and world events

First ride during a workday, headed over the bridge around 4pm on the first Monday of March. Unlike a typical weekend day which features scooters, skaters, walkers and explorers...this day was cyclists only. Judging by their pace and packs, I assume they were all commuters. After reading this article about delayed traffic and corresponding auto-commuter disruption, I was keen to see how many cyclists there'd be. I counted 10 total though they seemed to be increasing toward 5pm as my ride wrapped.
This statue, The Sentinel, in Richmond Point struck me. The original was dismantled, in part, for use as scrap metal during WWII. We are facing another world wide crisis with the Corona Virus...interesting what can bring the whole world together or tear us apart.
